Future plans for development of fisheries sector by Department of Fisheries, Khulna Division, Khulna

  1. Undertake separate long term  shrimp farming projects for Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Jessore and Narail districts for shrimp resource development
  2. Increase the production of shrimp production from 395 kg to 1000 kg per hectare by modern aquaculture technology
  3. Galda production increased from 631 kg / ha to 1500 kg / ha by modern aquaculture technology
  4. Establishment of Unionwari exhibition farm through the project
  5. Collection of updated information and preparation of database for shrimp / fish farmers
  6. Lobby Hatchery infrastructure development and research activities on lobster PL production
  7. Mechanization in fish farming
  8. Incentives / Subsidies for affected fish / shrimp / crab farmers in Covid-19
  9. Introduction of fish farming insurance.
  10.  Establishment of hatcheries in salt water / enclosed shrimp as well as fry for fish farming like Vhetki, Bhangan, Parshe, Tengra etc.
  11. Provide training on safe shrimp production to shrimp farmers through Good Aquaculture practices (GAP)
  12. Establishment of fish sanctuaries for conservation of native species of fish and adoption of beel and baor development projects
